Horizon Stagelighters

The Horizon Stagelighters are dedicated volunteers who provide Front of House services for Horizon Stage. They act as ushers and ticket-takers, run the bar and concessions, and are the first-line public face of Horizon Stage, welcoming our patrons with quality service. Incorporated as a not-for-profit society, the Stagelighters provide ongoing recruitment, training and recognition of their volunteers, promote the value of theatre in our community, fundraise for Horizon Stage, and even sponsor and present performances.

Horizon Stagelighters Vision Statement

With our dedicated volunteers' support, the Horizon Stagelighters will enrich the community's cultural experience and instill a passion for the performing arts in this and future generations. New members are always welcome.

Recruitment for the 2016/17 season is now closed. If you are interested in volunteering as a Horizon Stagelighter, fill out a front-of-house volunteer application form PDF, which will be held until the next recruitment drive. Recruitment for the 2017/18 season will begin on June 1, 2017.

Horizon Stage Tech Team

The Horizon Stage Tech Team is a volunteer organization that supports the performing arts in our community by working behind the scenes on all aspects of technical theatre. Under the supervision of the technical services coordinator, Tech Team members run lights and sound and provide backstage support for the professional presentations in the Horizon Stage season and at many rental events. All volunteers are trained in the various technical areas they choose to work in, as well as safety regulations and procedures.
