Footlights Drama Camps

Jam-packed with a variety of games and basic drama exercises suitable for younger children, Acting I is a five-morning drama camp where kids will be encouraged to play, pretend, and let their sillies out. Register online

This five-afternoon drama camp will use a variety of drama games and techniques to encourage kids to explore and expand their acting skills. Throughout the week, Acting II students will work on a short showcase piece that they will present at Horizon Stage on the last day of camp. Register online

Acting III is a more intense, full-day drama camp that will use drama games, improvisation techniques, character and scene work to help students delve deeper into their acting abilities. Throughout the week, participants will work together to create a showcase piece that they will present on the last day of camp. Participants music bring a peanut-free bagged lunch each day. Film Reel Commercial Workshop
|Dates: July 24 - 28
||Ages: 10 - 14||Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.||Cost: $280|
Use HD cameras and the latest digital equipment and hardware to film and edit your next big blockbuster. Participants will storyboard, write a script and learn about camera angles and cinematography before filming and editing their movies. Participants will also learn how to market their films by creating a movie poster. Family and friends will enjoy a red carpet film festival on Friday afternoon and participants will receive a digital USB key with their film on it. Participants must bring a peanut-free bagged lunch each day. Register online
Lego/Clay Animation Workshop
|Dates: August 14 - 18||Ages: 7 - 10||Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.||Cost: $280|
Work with a real filmmaker to create a stop-motion clay or lego film that is sure to rival the works of Hollywood's most talented. Participants will work in small crews to storyboard, script, build, design, capture and add sound effects, titles, voices and music to their own action packed, comedic, or dramatic animated short. Participants will also learn how to advertise and market their films. Family and friends will enjoy a red carpet film festival on Friday afternoon and participants will receive copies of their movies to share with the world!
