Lawrie Seligman

Lawrie Seligman has had a very active and varied career in the field of the performing arts. As a theatre director, Lawrie has worked at theatres in Edmonton and across Canada including the Citadel and the Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Manitoba Theatre Centre, and the Stratford Festival. He has also directed at the Edmonton Opera, Eugene Opera, and the Banff Centre for the Arts. Lawrie was producer of radio arts at CBC Edmonton and producer of television arts and drama at CBC Calgary. After graduating from the Arts Administration course at Grant MacEwan Community College, Lawrie worked for three years as Artistic Director of Sunshine Theatre in Kelowna, before coming to Spruce Grove in 2000.

Don Waddle

As Technical Services Coordinator for Horizon Stage, Don brings with him a toolbox of varied theatre experiences. His first job in theatre was running the 16mm movies in the Nancy Appleby Theatre in Athabasca when he was 14 years old. He was also heavily involved in high school drama productions and festivals.
Don attended Grant MacEwan Community College and graduated with a degree in Theatre Production. He worked for many different theatre companies prior to coming to Spruce Grove in 1989, including the Arden Theatre, Workshop West, Theatre Network, and the Edmonton Fringe Festival. Mr. Waddle continues to keep his skills honed as an active member of IATSE local 210.

Kerri Gibson Loranger

Kerri has been working and volunteering in the Edmonton theatre community for over ten years. She has produced, done publicity, worked box office, coordinated volunteers, stage-managed, directed and more. A graduate of the Arts Administration Program at Grant MacEwan Community College and Radio & Television Arts Programs at NAIT, Kerri spent three years at Theatre Network as their Administrative Assistant. She has also worked for Jagged Edge Theatre, Fringe Theatre Adventures, Sound & Fury Theatre, THEATre Public, Rapid Fire Theatre, Shadow Theatre, and The Unconscious Collective, and she has volunteered for almost every other theatre company in Edmonton and area. Her repertoire includes work on twelve shows at the last eight Edmonton Fringe Festivals, three of which she toured with to Winnipeg.
Kerri joined the Cultural Services team in October, 2001 as the Box Office Clerk, she was promoted to her current position in August, 2002.

Karen Smutt

Karen has worked for the City of Spruce Grove for over fifteen years in various departments including Finance, FCSS, and Community Services. The last six years have been with Horizon Stage.
Karen's primary responsibility is looking after the administrative needs of Cultural Services, including taking theatre bookings, managing accounts payable, records management, program registration, contract administration, setting up shows on the Ticketmaster system, settlement of all Horizon Stage shows, and much more.
Other duties include working with the Horizon Stagelighters to ensure that our volunteers are on hand for events at the Stage, acting as recording secretary for the Horizon Stage Theatre Advisory Board, maintaining records of the City's art collection, and providing backup for the Box Office Cashier.

Wendy Perusini

Wendy lives in Spruce Grove with her husband, Darin. She joined the Horizon Stage team in September 2007 and is excited to be involved in the Cultural Arts program within the City of Spruce Grove. Wendy enjoys scrapbooking, golfing and spending time with her family.

David Schuster

David got his start in theatre volunteering for the Horizon Stage Tech Team for four years before moving to Red Deer where he worked and trained at the Red Deer College Arts Centre. After completing two years of theatre production, he went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Motion Picture Arts. David has designed the lighting for several Red Deer Conservatory of Ballet performances and Kompany! Dance shows. David has also worked as Technical Director for the Alberta Band Association Festival of Bands, and head of lighting for the Alberta High School One-Act Festival. He has also worked with Ignition Theatre and Vold Audio in Red Deer. In addition to his theatre work, David has worked on multiple AMPIA award winning television projects. David is proud to be returning to Horizon Stage and the City of Spruce Grove.
